New
- The address bar can live in the sidebar, like Arc. Back, forward and reload move up next to the window buttons, the address field sits under them, and the page gets the whole height of the window. Turn it on in Settings › Appearance › “Address Bar”, or with View › Show Address Bar in Sidebar. With the sidebar hidden the toolbar comes back, so ⌘L always has somewhere to type.
- Release notes open after an update, like Dia. The first launch of a new version opens its entry on ardia.dev/release-notes in a new tab, once. They’re also under Help › Release Notes.
Fixed
- Right-click works on web pages again. Right-clicking a page showed no menu at all: not on text, text fields, links, images or the page itself. The full menu is back, with spelling suggestions, Look Up, Search, Cut, Copy and Paste, Speech, AutoFill, Services and Inspect.
- “Save address?” and “Save card?” can be answered. After submitting an address or card form, Chrome asked behind the window, where nobody could see it. The question now appears over the page.
- ⌘W closes a sign-in popup, not the tab behind it. In a popup such as “Sign in with Google”, or in DevTools, ⌘W closed the tab that opened it and left the popup up.
- Cancel on “Leave site?” keeps the tab. Closing a tab with unsaved changes and pressing Cancel left the page running with no tab showing it, still playing audio. The question is now a sheet on the window, and Cancel brings the tab back with what you typed.
- Chrome’s leftover shortcuts no longer act in secret. Keys like ⌥⌘L, ⌥⌘C, ⌃⌘C and ⌥⌘↑ ran Chrome’s own commands in its hidden window: opening downloads nobody could see, docking DevTools out of sight, or taking focus out of the page. They do nothing now.
Smaller
- ⌘↩ in a web form no longer runs Back to Pinned URL and navigates away from what you were typing.
- View Page Source tabs show the view-source address, and come back as the source after a restart.
- ⇧⌘B shows the bookmarks bar on a web page when it’s set to “On New Tab Only”.
- “Open in Reading Mode” is gone from text fields’ menu, where it did nothing.
