New
- Tabs on top look like Dia’s. Pinned tabs share one pill that scrolls with the rest, the open tab takes the page’s colour and runs straight into the toolbar, the others sit flat with dimmer titles, and “+” is a plain glyph. The window buttons move in line with the strip.
- The mini player looks and moves like Dia’s. At rest it’s just the video. Hover for back-to-tab, close, the site’s address, pause and a progress bar you can drag. It opens where you last put it, at the size you left it.
- Links to apps ask first. A
codex://,mailto:or other app link, including a sign-in page handing back to its app, shows “Open “App”?” with the site that asked, instead of an error page. Tick “Always allow” to skip the question for that site next time, and remove it again in Settings › Privacy & Security › “Apps allowed to open links”. - The address field shows the zoom. When a page isn’t at 100%, a magnifier appears in the address field; click it for −, + and Reset.
Fixed
- Closing the mini player keeps the video playing. Its × paused the video and then jumped to its tab. Now it just closes, the sound carries on in the background, and it doesn’t pop back up until you’ve been to the tab and left again.
- Going back to a video’s tab takes it back from the mini player. The mini player stayed over “Playing in picture-in-picture” when YouTube’s own button had started it. Showing the tab now ends it, however it started, and the video keeps playing in the page.
- Pressing f on a video fills the screen with the video. The window went full screen with the sidebar and toolbar still there, because the mini player briefly opened and took the video back out. Switching or closing the tab while a video is full screen now leaves full screen too.
- ⌘-scroll with a trackpad scrolls again. In recent versions it zoomed the page instead. With a Magic Mouse or a wheel, ⌘-scroll still zooms.
- Long addresses stay inside the address field. From the second time the field opened in a window, a long URL ran past its edge over the page and wouldn’t scroll to the cursor.
Smaller
- The New Tab row sits one row gap under the last tab, as the tabs do, with Dia’s dimmer “+”.
- Swiping between profiles with two fingers is recognised more reliably.
- A split pane that reappears no longer takes the focus from the one you were using.
