New
- The sidebar address bar works like Arc’s. With the address bar in the sidebar, clicking it (or ⌘L) opens a dropdown right from the field: the full address to edit, a site-info button, and your current and recent pages underneath. The sidebar header follows Arc’s layout, and Downloads sit at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Developer Tools do device mode. The device toolbar (phone and tablet emulation, with device presets) works docked and undocked, ⌥⌘I and ⌥⌘J close docked Developer Tools like Chrome, ⌥⌘J opens on the Console, and View › Developer › Inspect Elements (⌥⌘C) starts the element picker.
Fixed
- Closing a pinned tab keeps it pinned, like Dia. ⌘W, Close Tab or a middle-click closes the page behind a pinned tile and frees its memory, but the tile stays, back at its pinned site; click it to load it again. ⇧⌘T puts the page back into the tile. Tabs in pinned tab groups do the same, and new pinned tabs no longer sometimes unpin themselves.
- Switching profiles is quick again. A page dot or ⌃1–9 shows the other profile in about a tenth of a second (it took about half a second), and you can switch again straight away instead of waiting for the app to catch up. Swipes start moving with your fingers.
- Developer Tools no longer go blank after docking them back from their own window, and undocked device mode keeps the emulated page.
- F12 toggles Developer Tools like Chrome, and closes their own window. That window is titled “Developer Tools” with the page’s address, like Dia, and opens where you last left it.
Smaller
- Middle-click closes tabs in the sidebar.
- Escape or a click outside cancels the ⌃Tab recent-tabs switcher without switching.
- Site icons in the sidebar address dropdown show in light mode too.
- The app is a little lighter: an unused styling library and other dead code are gone.
