Ardia 0.2.29: Dropped links now stay in the Space you're in.

Fixed

  • A link dropped on the page opens in a new tab of the Space you’re in. Dragging a link and letting go over the page opened it in your next Space, often signed out, and the window jumped there with it. A ⌘-click that turned into a small drag did the same. Now the link opens as a new tab right where you are. A drop into a text field still types the link, and a small slip of the mouse opens nothing.
  • The floating sidebar goes away when you leave it. With the sidebar hidden, the sidebar that floats in from the window’s left edge stayed out over the page once it had come. It now stays while the pointer is at the edge or over it, and slides away once you move off, whichever way you go.
  • The traffic lights sit in the floating sidebar. When the hidden sidebar peeks in, the close, minimise and zoom buttons line up with its top row instead of hanging above its corner.
  • A tab an extension opens in front shows in front. Extensions that open a tab for you, such as a password manager’s sign-in page, opened it behind the page you were on.

Faster

Ardia 0.2.17 against this release, measured on the same Mac. The biggest win: with one tab open and nothing happening, it wakes the Mac a seventh as often.

Smaller

  • With the address bar in the sidebar, the reload button now shows at the sidebar’s default width.
  • With tabs across the top, the tab strip that peeks in at the window’s top edge also goes away when you leave it.
  • The ad blocker’s lists are up to date as of 6 October.
