Ardia 0.2.36: The empty field under your tabs now moves the window.

New

  • Drag the empty sidebar to move the window. With tabs in the sidebar, only a thin band at the top moved the window. The empty space under your tabs does it too now, screen-edge tiling included, and a double-click there still opens a new tab. Thanks, @louis-co.

Fixed

  • Importing your extensions during setup shows where they went. At the end of the import in onboarding, “Open in Chrome Web Store” opened the store pages behind the setup screen and cleared the list, so it looked like nothing happened. The list now stays, and says the pages are waiting in your sidebar for when you finish setting up. Extensions from Helium are listed too.
  • Switches flip the moment you click. In Settings and the site menu, a switch waited for the rest of the app to catch up before it moved, then stuttered on the way across. It now moves as soon as you let go of the click, and a click just outside its edge counts.
  • Dragging a tab up to pin it has room to land. With nothing pinned, the pin target was a thin dashed box squeezed under the window buttons, and the tabs jumped as you crossed it. The tabs now slide down to open space where the pinned tile will go, and only while the drop would pin.
  • Panels over the page no longer hug its top edge. Site Controls, Zoom, the history menu, permission prompts, Cast and Share sat 2 to 4 pt below the top of the page but 8 pt from its side. They now sit 8 pt from both, and Site Controls scrolls when the window is too short for it, as Little Ardia’s often is.

Smaller

  • uBlock Origin and uBlock Origin Lite are no longer on the list of extensions to add after an import: Ardia has uBlock Origin Lite built in, and the Chrome Web Store no longer lists uBlock Origin.
  • The History page redraws one row for a new visit instead of every row, and makes a row’s checkbox and “…” button only when you point at it, so it opens and scrolls with less work. Thanks, @shivamhwp.
  • In Settings › General, “Open links from other apps in” › “A new tab” now says those links open in the window you used last, which is what they do.

Now on 0.2.40

It kept going.
