Fixed
- Pressing f twice on YouTube no longer leaves the video in Picture in Picture. In 0.2.22, going into full screen and back out with “f” sometimes popped the video into Picture in Picture, sometimes flashed it there for a moment, and sometimes worked. Leaving full screen no longer counts as leaving the page: the video pops out only when you switch tabs, cover the window or go to another app.
- Dragging tabs feels like Dia. A dragged tab stood still for a third of a second before following the pointer, slid under its neighbours instead of past them, and everything snapped into place when you let go. Now it follows at once, its neighbours slide aside, it draws over the tabs it passes and settles into its spot. In the sidebar, the rows no longer jump down as a drag starts.
- The ad blocker works from a profile’s first page. A new profile’s first page, a private window’s, and tabs restored at launch could load their ads before the blocker’s rules were in place. Pages now wait for them, which almost never takes noticeable time.
- Hiding the toolbar while scrolling is one smooth motion. In 0.2.22 the page jumped while the bar faded over it, and its colour blinked. The page now glides up with the bar in 150 ms, frame for frame like Dia, and both come back together.
- Typing right after ⌘N goes to the new window. Keys typed before the new window’s address field appeared went to the old window’s page, so “f” could put a YouTube video in full screen. They now wait for the new window and arrive in order.
- Quitting saves your session, or says it can’t. Choosing Stay on a page’s “Leave site?” during ⌘Q left Ardia running without saving, and the next launch brought back the older session. Cancelling a quit now goes back to saving, and if the session can’t be saved within 5 seconds, Ardia asks whether to Wait or Quit Without Saving.
- Grouped tabs don’t flicker when a group opens or closes. Folding a group that held the current tab faded that tab out and back in. It now stays put while the others slide away, in groups and live folders alike.
- No stray tab under the profile chip. With tabs on top, a sliver of another profile’s tab showed under the Personal chip.
- The ad blocker’s lists don’t switch themselves off. Toggling a filter list at the wrong moment could turn every list off in every profile. A change that can’t read the current lists now leaves them as they were and says so.
- A tab moved to another window keeps its page. When the new window took more than 3 seconds to draw, as on a busy Mac, the tab arrived as a fresh page, with its Back list and anything you’d typed gone.
- The toolbar takes each site’s own colour. It kept the previous site’s colour after a navigation, on error pages for good, and after going Back.
- A split’s other pane keeps playing while one pane is in full screen. Its video popped into Picture in Picture.
- A plain “f” on a page never makes the window full screen. On a page that ignored the key, it could reach View › Enter Full Screen.
Smaller
- Titles in the sidebar and the tab strip no longer jump when a close or reload button appears under the pointer.
- The sidebar’s hover card never comes back after you dismiss it, and goes away when the sidebar scrolls.
- The sidebar player keeps showing the tab you paused instead of switching to another one.
- A second swipe right after a quick one goes back too, instead of doing nothing.
- A tab you type in while it’s being put to sleep keeps what you typed.
- Extension badges in the toolbar don’t flash on a tab switch, and the side panel shows the last one you asked for.
- Grabbing the sidebar’s edge while it springs back starts from where it is, and no longer snaps back.
- Switching to a tab while another opens in the background keeps the one you switched to in view.
- Closing the last private window and pressing ⇧⌘N right away opens a private window.
- A video’s full screen keeps the sidebar’s scroll position.
- Group chips in the tab strip draw at their width at once, without resizing every tab a frame later.
- Live folders open and close in 150 ms, as groups do.
- The content blocker’s switches in Settings work again after you delete a profile.
- A change to the ad blocker on a site that fails shows a message instead of doing nothing.
- A window an extension opens appears even when only the New Tab page is showing.
- After launching to the New Tab page, Chrome’s background work starts within seconds instead of 3 minutes.
