New
- Glass or Classic, in Settings › Appearance and in setup. On macOS 26, Glass puts a clear, quiet liquid glass on the pinned tiles, the address field, buttons, Downloads and the site controls panel, and can take on your profile’s colour with a Tint amount slider. Classic gives everything Dia’s flat look, with faint fills and one-pixel outlines.
- Every right-click menu follows Dia’s order, with icons on macOS 27 and one name per action. Move several tabs or a whole group to another profile or window from their menu, right-click Reload to turn the ad blocker off for a site or clear its cookies, and right-click a profile to rename it or change its icon or colour.
- The sidebar player opens up when you rest on it: the artist, a seek bar, previous, play/pause and next, mute, Picture in Picture and close. At rest it’s one row, and a long title scrolls instead of being cut off.
- Memory Saver replaces Ardia’s own tab sleeping, as in Helium. Settings › Advanced › Performance turns it off, picks Moderate, Balanced or Maximum, and keeps chosen sites always active; pinned tabs and the tab you’re on never sleep.
- Profiles can show icons instead of dots, as in Arc: turn it on in Settings › Profiles, then right-click the switcher to give each profile a symbol or emoji.
- Collapse a profile’s pinned tabs by clicking “Pinned” above your tabs. Closing your last tab keeps the window while it still has pinned tabs, as in Arc.
- The bookmarks bar takes drag and drop: reorder it, drop into and out of folders, or drop a tab on it. Export your bookmarks as an HTML file from Settings › General or the command bar.
- Mute a single tab. Muting a tab no longer mutes every tab on that site; Mute Site is its own choice.
- Zooming shows the zoom level in a small panel that closes on its own, and ⌘-scroll goes to the page first, so maps and design tools that zoom with it work.
- A compact toolbar, 28 pt instead of 41, so a 16:9 video in web full screen fills a maximized window. Little Ardia gets back and forward buttons.
- Links to other sites can open in Peek from Top Apps and pinned tabs, as in Arc (Settings › Tabs › Links).
- Drop a .crx file on the window to install an extension, and “Allow User Scripts” in Settings › Extensions lets Tampermonkey and other userscript managers run.
- Clean up old tabs after any time you like, down to the minute, and start the pinned calendar’s countdown 5 to 60 minutes before a meeting.
- Setup’s custom colour has the full theme options: pass-through blur and noise, alongside intensity and direction.
Fixed
- Ardia runs on Chromium 156.0.8078.79, with Chrome’s latest security fixes and Helium 0.20.3’s patches underneath.
- Switching tabs no longer flashes a blank page, and neither does closing one with ⌘W. The page you leave stays up until the next one has drawn.
- Two crashes are gone: opening the Downloads panel, which crashed 0.2.42 for some people, and closing a tab that runs in WebKit on macOS 14 and 15.
- Sign in with Google popups show their page again. Since 0.2.41 they came up blank, or black in Little Ardia.
- ⌘N opens the new window on the profile you’re in, instead of always the first one.
- Sync shows your other Mac’s profiles. A Mac that joined before the other had sent its profiles never got them; it now lists each one with Add to This Mac.
- Extensions speak your Mac’s language. Chrome’s pages and extensions were in English whatever your Mac was set to, and uBlock Origin’s own text was blank.
- Switching between Stable and Nightly keeps your downloaded update, and quitting waits for it 8 seconds at most.
- Picture in Picture opens where you left it, on the same monitor.
- Gmail’s dark theme keeps a dark toolbar, and middle-click closes tabs when the tabs are on top.
- Obsidian Web Clipper saves to your vault, and Tencent Video’s VIP videos play instead of showing a black screen.
- A cancelled Save As no longer leaves an empty download, and old copies of Ardia no longer show up in the default browser and Open With lists.
Smaller
- Pressing a tab row no longer bounces, as in Dia.
- The page menu matches Dia’s on links and blank pages.
- Reload shows in the sidebar from 210 pt wide, and the page’s frame is 9 pt on every side.
- The divider under the pinned tiles sits evenly, and download rows reach the panel’s right edge.
- A website gets every key first, except the shortcuts Helium keeps for the browser, such as New Tab, Close Tab and Developer Tools.
- Dragging the Settings window no longer flickers, and Settings’ back and forward buttons work on the first click.
- If you share anonymous usage stats, Ardia also sends your on/off, pick-one and number settings once a day, each with its default; never anything you type.
